About the role

Adventist HealthCare Home Health seeks to hire a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) in Southern Maryland Territory servicing Prince George and Charles County. The role involves providing rehabilitative services to patients to recover, improve, and maintain the skills needed for daily activities. The COTA will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing rehabilitation services for patients with physical, mental, developmental, or surgical issues.
  • Maintain and monitor patients' health issues and requirements, ensuring they receive necessary support.
  • Help patients perform rehabilitative exercises and treatments as directed by Occupational Therapists.
  • Feed, dress, change bedding, and assist with hygiene needs.
  • Maintain and order equipment used in treatment processes and document patient progress.
  • Provide regular progress reports to doctors and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • An Associate’s degree from an accredited COTA program is preferred.
  • Site-specific experience is preferred, with a minimum of one site-specific clinical affiliation required.
  • Must be licensed in the State of Maryland.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • First Aid Certification issued by American Heart Association is mandatory.
  • A valid driver’s license with agency insurance requirements is needed.

Schedule

Full-time position with 40 hours per week, typically from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Pay Range

$25.63 - $35.89 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
