About the role
You get into OT because you wanted to help kids find independence — in the bathroom, at the lunch table, on the playground. At Oaklin Lane, you’ll do exactly that with a dedicated supervising OT and a team of COTAs who support each other. Consistent mentorship, a purpose-built clinic designed for how kids actually move, and the time to deliver the kind of individualized care that makes a real difference.
Responsibilities
- Deliver one-on-one therapeutic treatment under the supervision of a licensed OT
- Guide kids on and around therapy equipment safely and confidently
- Assess and demonstrate the use of medical equipment, including prosthetic or orthotic devices and mobility aids
- Document sessions, assessments, and standardized testing in our EMR with accuracy and care
- Transport kids to and from treatment areas using mobility aids when needed
- Stay current on field advancements through CEUs and continuing education
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with kids, families, and your interdisciplinary teammates
- Keep detailed notes on patient history and sessions
- Mentor students and therapy technicians who come through your team
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
- Current Texas COTA licensure
- Sound understanding of childhood disorders and treatments
- Experience with the pediatric population
- Physical ability to safely lift, transfer, and assist children and equipment
