Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, COTA
Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care: Provides direct treatment to patients in accordance with the established plan of care developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Consistently performs at the required productivity level maintaining effective time management according to daily schedule.
- Treatment Support: Implement intervention plans, including ADL training, based on the guidance of the Occupational Therapist.
- Auxiliary Role: Assists with gathering objective data for Section GG collection during Annual, Quarterly, Falls, and Significant Change assessments. Executes assigned screens for residents.
- Program Development: Actively participate in program development and clinical programming. Identify best practices for Occupational Therapy practice and share with Rehab Team.
- Monitoring: Observe residents' performance and report any changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident progress and any interventions provided.
- Education: Educate residents, family members, and care staff on safe techniques and exercises for continued progress.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with nursing and other rehab staff, including Physical Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, to provide comprehensive care.
- Attend and contribute to patient care plan meetings.
Qualifications
- Must be COTA certified.
