This position is for CNA's currently enrolled in the Nursing Program. 72 Working Hours Required Per Quarter. Please Note: This a pool position. No guarantee of hours.

Responsibilities

  • Performs related assignments and tasks as requested in order to promote positive visitor, family, and staff relations.
  • Provides high quality patient care in a caring and compassionate manor.
  • Reports any observed change in patient condition or behavior promptly to the nurse.
  • Ensures patient care tasks are completed timely.
  • Performs or assists with duties as outlined in the CNA Scope of Practice under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment for patient and staff according to hospital and unit policies.
  • Demonstrates competence in providing care routines in accordance with established nursing care procedure to ensure patients' comfort and safety.
  • Takes and records vital signs, height, weight, intake and output, and other measurements as applicable, in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Reports all variations from normal to the RN in charge of the patient.
  • Obtains finger stick blood glucose as delegated by the RN unless working in an area where this is prohibited.
  • Prepares patients for meals, assists in feeding patients (if necessary), distributes fresh water and other nourishment according to patients’ needs.
  • Ambulates/Transfers patients using proper body mechanics and patient safety techniques.
  • Assists nurse in treatment procedures as needed.
  • Documents accurately and timely in the patient medical record.
  • Actively participates in quality improvement programs.
  • Adheres to Confluence Health and Central Washington Hospital/Wenatchee Valley Hospital policies and unit standards as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing assistant program
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Active WA certified CNA license
  • Eligible to obtain Medical Assistant: Registered certification where applicable (application completed during the hiring process).
  • Must possess basic computer skills related to Windows navigation, mouse usage, keyboarding, email communication and password management.
