Responsibilities
- Provide daily personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene, and mobility assistance.
- Assist residents with meals, hydration, and feeding as necessary while maintaining dignity and independence.
- Measure and record vital signs, weight, intake/output, and report significant changes to the nurse immediately.
- Help residents with positioning, turning, and transferring using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable resident rooms and common areas.
- Support residents in recreational and social activities to promote engagement and emotional well-being.
- Observe and report any changes in physical or mental status to the licensed nurse promptly.
- Follow infection control, safety, and privacy policies at all times.
- Document care and observations accurately and timely in accordance with facility procedures.
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
- Uphold resident rights, confidentiality, and the mission and values of the facility.
Qualifications
- Current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in good standing.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Minimum of six (6) months experience in long-term care or post-acute setting (preferred).
- Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, and team members.
- Must be able to lift, move, and transfer residents safely and perform the physical demands of the position.
- Current CPR certification (preferred).
