About the role

The Private Care CNA position at Riverside Health System is responsible for providing personal care, comfort measures, and environmental services for patients under the supervision of a Nurse Manager. This role requires demonstrating knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care, comfort measures, and environmental services for a specified number of patients as per department standards.
• Fulfills the plan of care to ensure patients receive consistent, competent, and ethical care within legal standards of practice, maintaining patient privacy and support for their value systems.
• Ensures availability of necessary resources (equipment, instruments, supplies) to support positive patient outcomes.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work/patient environment by cleaning workstations/areas, stocking supplies, and storing equipment appropriately.
• Participates in training and support of team members, volunteers, and students as needed.

Requirements

• Experience: 1 year prior Nurse Aide work experience in a home care setting (preferred).
• Licenses and Certifications: Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) from the Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP), CPR/BLS certification from AHA/ARC within 30 days of hire.
• Vehicle: Personal vehicle for 25% or more of the time to perform essential job functions, valid drivers license required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of the patients served.
• Competent understanding of assigned plans of care within the scope of practice and responsibilities as directed by RN/LPN.

Skills

• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect patient values.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping.

Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors including relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.

Pay

Hiring range is $16.80 - $21.83 hourly.
