Position Summary and Job Duties

$2000 New Hire Bonus in the first year of employment.
- Provides care to assigned resident group.
Works as a team member to assure that all residents receive necessary care and services.
Immediately reports resident health concerns to the RN.
Responds to call lights of all residents in a timely manner.
Reports all allegations of abuse, neglect or misappropriation to the supervisor.
Affords thickened liquids and therapeutic diets as needed.
Maintains resident safety during transfers and when using mechanical lifts, gait belts, etc.
Affirms all resident supportive devices are applied in the proper manner.
Delivers restorative care specific to each resident. - Documents vital signs, weights, intake and output, observation flow sheets, restorative nursing and other assigned charting in a timely fashion as assigned by licensed nursing supervisors.
- Performs assigned tasks in an emergency situation (ie. fire, tornado, disaster, etc.).

Leaves unit only for allowed break and meal times and returns within time frame established by RH policy.

Organizes and completes assignments in a timely manner.
Carries out all facility policies. - Completes a minimum of 12 in-service hours annually.
Communicates effectively orally and in writing.
Works well as a team member. - Completion of nursing assistant course at an accredited program.
Long-term care experience preferred.
Current certification with the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry. - Ability to sit, stand, bend, and stoop for periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to work in a stressful environment.
Ability to respond to emergency/crisis situations.
Ability to push/pull a medication cart.
Exposure to noise.

- Holidays: Required holidays observed by the County, with additional floating holidays granted by the County Board.
- Vacation: Employees (.4 FTE or greater) hired on or after April 10, 2023, earn vacation according to a specific schedule.
- Health Insurance: Dual choice point of service plan offered, with 90% of the premium paid by the County and the employee earning the remaining 10%. Open enrollment in the fall.
- Sick Leave: One sick leave day per month of continuous employment for full-time employees, prorated for part-time employees.
- Dental Plan: Dual choice point of service plan offered, with 60% of the premium paid by the County and the employee earning the remaining 40%. Open enrollment in the fall.
- Vision Plan: Dual choice point of service plan offered, with 60% of the premium paid by the County and the employee earning the remaining 40%. Open enrollment in the fall.
- Life Insurance: Term life insurance through the State of Wisconsin Plan, with the County contributing 20% of the cost for the first increment only. Coverage is tied to eligibility for retirement benefits.
- Voluntary Benefits: Various voluntary benefits offered, with the employee responsible for 100% of the premiums. Enrollment occurs annually.
- Deferred Compensation: Participation in one of the identified deferred compensation plans (Nationwide, Wisconsin Deferred Comp, and Security Benefits) at the employee's own cost.
- Flexible Spending Account (Medical and Dependent Care): Employees can elect to put an annually IRS established amount into a flexible spending account to pay for non-reimbursed medical care expenses. Enrollment occurs annually.
- Retirement: Participates in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), with contributions made by both the employer and the employee. Eligible employees are required to participate.
- Bereavement Leave: Excuse from work without loss of pay for up to a maximum of thirty-two (32) hours annually for the purpose of attending a person’s wake, visitation, memorial service, funeral, or making necessary arrangements regarding the person’s death, within a reasonable time after the occurrence.
- EAP: Provides an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for counseling and support services.
