Job Summary

The CNA-Med Tech plays a crucial role within a clinical team, providing exceptional care and service to residents. The primary responsibility is administering medications as per physician orders, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Administers routinely scheduled oral and topical medications according to physician orders via scanning per policy to assigned residents
• Maintains clean and orderly equipment for medication administration
• Monitors and records vital signs according to physician orders and standards
• Reports any unusual or unwanted medication side effects to Charge Nurse
• Maintains accurate documentation of all medications and treatments based on policy and best practices
• Aids Charge Nurse with returning, re-ordering, and destroying medications per facility policy
• Notifies Charge Nurse of any outdated medications and any projected shortage of medications or supplies
• Makes suggestions to resolve problems or streamline the medication system to Charge Nurse

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED
• Ability to interact with the computer-based Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
• Graduate of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program and on the Maine CNA Registry
• Successful completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant-Medication training program
