Certified Nursing Assistant- Lancaster

About the role

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a paraprofessional who provides personal care to patients in their homes under the direction of a registered nurse (RN). The CNA works closely with patients and their families to assist with activities of daily living and supports medical staff in delivering care.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned functions of personal care to chronically ill, disabled, and terminally ill patients in their residences.
• Work with patients and families to provide personal care and support activities of daily living.
• Assist family members in caring for their loved ones when possible and advocate for the patient's needs.
• Support medical staff in administering care to the patient.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified as a nursing assistant in South Carolina.
• Registered with the South Carolina State Board of Nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS).

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a certified nursing assistant preferred.

Skills

• Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs, work indoors, work outdoors, work from elevated areas, work in confined/cramped spaces, bend, twist, squat, pinch, grasp, reach overhead, perform repetitive motions, lift up to 50 lbs., push/pull objects, see, hear, smell, taste, touch, and maintain sensory functions.
