Certified Nursing Assistant - Full Time - Nights - Neuro Surgical

About the role

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to provide routine personal care for patients, maintain a safe environment, and support the mission and vision of Winchester Rehabilitation Center and Winchester Medical Center. Experienced CNAs may serve as preceptors for new staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine personal care duties for patients.
• Maintain a safe environment and report any problems.
• Support the mission and vision of Winchester Rehabilitation Center and Winchester Medical Center.
• Act as a preceptor in the orientation of new CNAs once experienced.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certification & Licensure: Registered on the Virginia and/or West Virginia Registry of the Board of Nursing as a Certified Nurse Aide.
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association Healthcare Provider (HCP) required prior to completion of orientation.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic principles of human growth and development.
• Ability to interact competently with patients according to their special needs, including age‑specific considerations.
• Reliable means of phone communication with the hospital.
• Requirement to obtain Valley Health‑provided annual flu vaccination when employed in Long‑Term Care clinical areas.

Pay

Pay Range: $18.59 – $24.16 per hour
