About the role

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a dual role, supporting both medication administration and direct resident care. This role adheres to the organization's mission, values, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with medication administration and provides treatments under the supervision of a nurse.
  • Maintains resident rooms in a clean and orderly manner through light housekeeping, linen changes, bed making, and bathroom cleaning.
  • Provides direct care and support for activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, mobility, and feeding.
  • Attends and participates in facility meetings and in-service training programs.
  • Observes residents and reports changes in condition, behavior, or functional status promptly.
  • Ensures resident privacy and property safety.
  • Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely with staff and residents.
  • Participates in the orientation of new or temporary staff.
  • Promotes positive public relations with residents, families, and guests.
  • Performs restorative care as assigned.
  • Operates various equipment safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • CPR certification.
  • Experience: 0-1 years.
  • Knowledge of various medications, their purposes, dosages, routes of administration, and potential side effects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and healthcare professionals.
  • Knowledge of privacy regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to educate patients about their medications.
  • Physical abilities: Standing, sitting, talking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, using hands and fingers, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling light to moderate amounts of weight up to 100 lbs.
  • Visual acuity: Near visual acuity for working with small objects or reading small print, and far visual acuity for observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Certification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA).

Pay

The pay range for this position is $16.25 - $21.63 per hour. The actual offered rate of pay may vary based on job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and external equity.
