Location: Milwaukee, WI (Froedtert Hospital) – On-site role
About the Role
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides delegated, age-appropriate care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, in a culturally and ethnically sensitive manner. The CNA assists patients with tasks outlined in their clinical competency assessment, including basic nursing skills, personal care, and basic restorative services. Responsibilities are based on CNA training and certification or basic nursing courses from an accredited school for professional nurses. The CNA may also provide continuous safety observation.
This role reports to the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and the RNs on duty during each shift.
Schedule
- FTE: 0.3 (12 standard hours per week)
- Shift: 07:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Shift 1)
- Weekends: Every 4th Saturday and Sunday
- Holidays: 4 per year
Requirements
- State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification required; alternatively, must be currently enrolled in a nursing program and able to provide documentation from an accredited school indicating successful completion of a basic nursing course (covering all criteria noted by the State of Wisconsin administrative code) with a minimum of one acute care medical/surgical clinical rotation.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or equivalent required within 90 days of hire.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
