Location: Milwaukee, WI (on-site at Froedtert Hospital)

FTE: 0.90 (36 standard hours per week)

About the role

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides delegated, age-appropriate care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, in a culturally and ethnically sensitive manner. The CNA assists patients with tasks outlined in their clinical competency assessment related to basic nursing skills, personal care skills, and basic restorative services. Duties include what was taught during CNA training and certification or learned during basic nursing courses at an accredited school for professional nurses. The CNA may also provide continuous safety observation.

This role reports to the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and the RNs on duty during each assigned shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing and personal care skills as outlined in clinical competency assessments
• Assist patients with daily living activities
• Perform basic restorative services
• Provide continuous safety observation when required
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification (required), OR currently enrolled in a nursing program with documentation from an accredited school indicating successful completion of a basic nursing course covering all criteria noted by the State of Wisconsin administrative code, plus a minimum of one acute care medical/surgical clinical rotation
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or equivalent (required within 90 days of hire)

Schedule

• Shift: 18:30 – 07:00 (Shift 3)
• Every third weekend
• Holidays: Rotating schedule (Track A or B)
