Pay

The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, and seniority. Pay range: $22.35 - $33.16 per hour.

About the role

As a Certified Nursing Assistant at PeaceHealth Rehabilitation Hospital, you'll play a vital role in helping patients recover and regain independence. Every interaction matters, from assisting with daily activities to encouraging a patient through their first walk after surgery or helping them accomplish goals they once thought were out of reach. You'll work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse while contributing to a patient-centered rehabilitation experience that focuses on dignity, compassion, and measurable recovery.

As a CNA at the new PeaceHealth Rehabilitation Hospital in Springfield, you'll work alongside a dedicated rehab team helping patients regain strength, independence, and confidence after life-changing injuries, illnesses, and surgeries, while forming the kind of patient relationships that remind you why you chose healthcare in the first place.

Responsibilities

• Build supportive relationships with patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.
• Assist patients with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral care, toileting, eating, and hydration.
• Help patients safely move in and out of bed, transfer between locations, walk, and participate in mobility activities.
• Measure and document vital signs, intake/output, and other patient care observations.
• Recognize changes in a patient's condition and communicate concerns promptly to the nursing team.
• Perform CNA-level clinical tasks and treatments as directed by the care team.
• Support a clean, organized, and welcoming care environment.
• Stock supplies and help ensure patient rooms are ready for care needs.
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record.
• Provide occasional unit support, including answering phones, processing orders, and assisting with clerical tasks.
• Contribute to a culture of teamwork, safety, respect, and compassionate care.

Requirements

• Oregon Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
• Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the care team.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of CNA experience.
• Experience in an acute care, hospital, rehabilitation, or skilled nursing environment.
