Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - PRN Days | San Antonio Northeast Rehab

Responsibilities

• Observing and recording patient information pertinent to the treatment plan
• Welcome new patients through specific admission protocols
• Aiding in the patient discharge process
• Maintaining direct patient observation
• Leading patient education, community, goal, and activity groups
• Assisting nursing staff by taking vital signs and helping patients perform ADLs
• Frequently responding to a variety of patient situations such as codes, behavioral outbursts, attempts to introduce contraband, and medical issues under the supervision of the Registered Nurse

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) where required by state where the hospital resides required
• Current BLS certification is required
• Crisis management certification per hospital policy and standards required

Qualifications

• No prior experience required
• A minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience in an inpatient behavioral health hospital is preferred
