About the Role

Join our team as a day shift, full-time Float Pool Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Pocatello, ID. You will work in partnership with registered nurses to support the delivery of care across multiple units, primarily covering Medical/Surgical, Progressive Care, Orthopedics, Behavioral Health, and Rehab.

Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma Center and tertiary referral hospital. Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of care in a safe patient environment that promotes caring and healing, in partnership with the registered nurse.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge and skills necessary to communicate appropriately and carry out delegated tasks for patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Document data as directed and report observations and patient concerns to the registered nurse.
• Ensure all safety precautions are observed, including call light within reach, bed alarms used as appropriate, side rails up, bed in lowest position, seat belts in place, etc.
• Obtain and record patients' vital signs.
• Monitor patients and report their condition at regular intervals and prior to completion of shift; promptly report any signs or symptoms of concern.
• Ensure accurate documentation of observations and interventions in the medical record.
• Respond promptly to all call lights.
• Assist patients with mobility and basic tasks, such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Provide basic patient transport.
• Perform basic housekeeping duties as needed to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients and staff.
• Assist in preparing and stripping rooms as needed.
• Participate in Purposeful Hourly Rounding and Bedside Shift Report as directed.
• Perform direct and indirect patient care duties as assigned and may provide clerical support to the assigned unit.
• Maintain unit records, orders, and stocks routine supplies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current Certified Nurse Assistant certification in the State of Idaho.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience as a nurse assistant.
