About the Role
Be the heart of compassionate care in a patient care support role with us! In this vital role, you'll provide essential assistance and comfort to patients, ensuring they receive the best possible experience during their healthcare journey.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction/supervision of RN, provides basic and intermediate nursing care for assigned group of patients based on competence.
- Care for patients from age 15 years to maturity in General Nursing Units.
- Care for patients 15 years through adult in Special Care Areas.
- Care for patients who have a pregnancy related condition in Maternal Child Units: Labor and Delivery.
- Care for newborns until discharge status in Nursery.
- Care for patients from neonate through age of eighteen in Pediatric units.
- Care for toddlers, beginning age 24 months, through adult in GI Lab Unit.
- Care for adult patients and family with holistic approach to emotional problems in Psychiatric Unit.
- Provide care to presenting patients of all ages in Emergency Unit.
- Provide care to patients from neonate to geriatric in Surgical Services.
- Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant or intermediate or higher level Emergency Medical Technician program.
- PREFERRED EDUCATION: Satisfactory completed a nurse aide course, EMT, Paramedic, Medical Assisting.
- MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years of clinical experience (Inpatient, Emergency Department, or Skilled Nursing Unit).
- REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Current Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Phlebotomist, EKG Tech certification required.
- REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): BLS –Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to position.
