About the role

The Nurse Technician performs patient care, nursing tasks, and clerical duties – including acting as a unit receptionist and providing information to patients, families, visitors, and staff. The Nurse Tech also assists the Licensed Nurse as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, maintain a safe environment, and assist with activities of daily living.
• Relay messages, answer phones, and maintain records.
• Record vital signs, fluid intake/output, and patient data; collect specimens.
• Prepare, assist, and document patient meals.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges; provide patient mobility support.
• Maintain unit cleanliness, manage supplies and equipment, and inspect patient charts.
• Update, assemble, and maintain patient charts; assist with record requests.
• Respond to call lights
