About the role

The role involves ensuring individualized care plans are followed, attending to resident needs, maintaining skin integrity, protecting personal belongings, taking vital signs, and communicating effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure individualized care plans are followed and provide care planning staff with specific information, changes, and observations of the residents' needs and preferences.
  • Attend to the resident's needs, including grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communication, in keeping with the individuals' care requirements.
  • Maintain each resident's skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damage by changing incontinent residents, turning, repositioning immobile residents, and applying moisturizers to fragile skin.
  • Protect the personal belongings of each resident and promptly report missing items according to established policy.
  • Take vital signs, residents' weights, apply creams/ointments, collect specimens, lift, move, and transport residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices to prevent accidents.
  • Document care in keeping with department policies.
  • Communicate and interact tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.

Requirements

You currently possess a CNA certification in the state of employment and have the ability to obtain a CPR/BLS card.

Qualifications

Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required. We offer comprehensive training and support to help you succeed in this role.

Skills

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to follow instructions, and a compassionate nature are essential. Proficiency in computer systems and software is helpful but not required.
