Certified Nursing Assistant, CNA
About the role

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), your primary responsibilities include providing quality nursing care, promoting resident rights, and maintaining individualized care plans.
Responsibilities
- Ensure individualized care plans are followed and communicate relevant information to care planning staff.
- Attend to resident needs, including grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinence care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliance management, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, and communication.
- Maintain skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damages through appropriate interventions like changing incontinent residents, turning immobile residents, and applying moisturizers.
- Protect residents' personal belongings and report missing items promptly.
- Take vital signs, weigh residents, apply creams/ointments, collect specimens, lift, move, and transport residents safely, adhering to safety and infection control protocols.
- Document care in accordance with departmental policies.
- Communicate and interact tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
Requirements
You must possess a current CNA certification in the state of employment and be able to obtain a CPR/BLS certification.
Qualifications
Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently are essential.
Skills
Excellent communication skills, ability to handle sensitive situations, and proficiency in basic medical procedures are required.
