About the role
We are Regency Prineville Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, a skilled nursing community located in the heart of beautiful Prineville, OR. We are seeking caring and compassionate individuals to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality nursing care and promote resident rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and individuality.
- Provide individualized attention and encourage residents to maintain or attain their highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
- Ensure individualized care plans are followed and provide care planning staff with specific information, changes, and observations of the residents' needs and preferences.
- Attend to the resident's needs, including grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communication, in keeping with the individuals' care requirements.
- Maintain each resident's skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damage by changing incontinent residents, turning, repositioning immobile residents, and applying moisturizers to fragile skin.
- Protect the personal belongings of each resident and promptly report missing items according to established policy.
- Take vital signs, residents' weights, apply creams/ointments, collect specimens, lift, move, and transport residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices to prevent accidents.
- Document care in keeping with department policies.
- Follow prescribed safety and infection control procedures.
- Communicate and interact tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
Requirements
- Currently possess a CNA certification in the state of employment.
- Ability to obtain CPR/BLS card.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in a healthcare setting.
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs.
Skills
Essential skills include:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures.
- Basic computer skills.
