About the role

Located in Waimea, Kauaʻi Island, this position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus for full-time employment. Additionally, tuition reimbursement up to $3,000 is available for career advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality nursing care and promote resident rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and individuality.
  • Individualize attention and encourage residents to maintain or attain their highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
  • Ensure individualized care plans are followed and provide care planning staff with specific information, changes, and observations of the residents' needs and preferences.
  • Attend to resident needs, including grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communication, in keeping with the individuals' care requirements.
  • Maintain each resident's skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damage by changing incontinent residents, turning, repositioning immobile residents, and applying moisturizers to fragile skin.
  • Protect the personal belongings of each resident and promptly report missing items according to established policy.
  • Take vital signs, residents' weights, apply creams/ointments, collect specimens, lift, move, and transport residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices to prevent accidents.
  • Document care in keeping with department policies.
  • Follow prescribed safety and infection control procedures.
  • Communicate and interact tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.

Requirements

  • Currently possess a CNA certification in the state of employment.
  • Able to obtain CPR/BLS card.
