About the role

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), your primary responsibilities include providing quality nursing care, promoting resident rights, and maintaining individualized care plans.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure individualized care plans are followed and communicate relevant information to care planning staff.
  • Attend to resident needs, including grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliance management, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, and communication.
  • Maintain resident skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damages through appropriate interventions like changing incontinent residents, turning immobile residents, and applying moisturizers.
  • Protect residents' personal belongings and report missing items promptly according to policy.
  • Take vital signs, weigh residents, apply creams/ointments, collect specimens, lift, move, and transport residents safely, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices.
  • Document care in accordance with department policies.
  • Follow prescribed safety and infection control procedures.
  • Communicate and interact tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.

Requirements

You currently possess a CNA certification in the state of employment and have the ability to obtain a CPR/BLS card.

Qualifications

Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required. Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate nature are essential.

Skills

Effective communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities are crucial. Knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures is beneficial.
