About the role

Brook Valley School in La Vista is hiring CNAs to support students K-12 with disabilities. Positions offer flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and summers off.

Responsibilities

• Performs medically related duties as requested, such as feeding, tube feeding, CPR, suctioning, toiletry duties, and therapy assistance.
• Assists with classroom arrangements.
• Maintains the daily routine and assists teachers, speech language pathologists, and other professionals in carrying out planned activities.
• Gathers and prepares materials for individual students or centers under the direction of the classroom teachers.
• Provides input regarding daily child observations.
• Supports students with learning tasks and activities as directed by the classroom teachers.
• Assists with general housekeeping tasks in the room.
• Supports health-related activities and provides assistance with activities of daily living when necessary.
• Participates in in-service training and staff development.
• Ensures a safe environment for children and adults through implementation of universal health precautions.
• Communicates areas of concern to the classroom teacher.

Requirements

• No history of child abuse or negligence.
• Minimum of a high school diploma.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification. Certified Nurse Assistant preferred.
• Successfully passes required background checks.
• Regular and dependable in-person attendance is required and is considered a condition of employment.
