About the role

The Local Office is seeking compassionate nurses to provide care for a high-acuity client/patient with tracheostomy and ventilator needs. The position involves personal medical care, daily living assistance, and adherence to confidentiality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic first aid and take weight and vital signs
  • Catheter and bowel care, including I&O monitoring
  • Range of motion exercises and transfers with non-life support medical equipment
  • Prepare meals according to dietary needs
  • Maintain good personal hygiene, including bathing, toileting, grooming, shaving, skin and nail care, oral hygiene, dressing, and eating
  • Document all required information thoroughly and coordinate with RNs
  • Report significant changes in patient's condition to the RN supervisor
  • Provide hands-on personal care and simple procedures as needed

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED*
  • Current, unrestricted certification or proof of training as required by the state
  • CPR certification
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and policies/procedures
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable MVR (not applicable if patient is the child/loved one)
  • Continuing education as required by state

Qualifications

  • Georgia: Nurse Aide training and competency evaluation program, or Health Care or Personal Care credentialing program, or 40-hour training program
  • Illinois: Clearance from Illinois Department of Public Health – Health Care Worker Registry, or completion of Long-Term Care Assistants and Aides Training Programs Code
  • Colorado(Nursing Aide Services): Certification by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies within four months of employment, supervised weekly for the first month, then every two weeks thereafter
