Job Summary
The Department of State (DOS) offers recruitment incentives and referral bonuses to attract qualified nurses and nursing assistants to the state. The program provides incentives for new hires in various nursing roles, with specific details provided below.
Recruitment Incentives
- Advanced Practice Nurse, Nurse Consultant, Nursing Supervisor, Compliance Nurse: $10,000.00
- Nurse: $7,500.00
- Licensed Practical Nurse: $5,000.00
- Certified Nursing Assistant: Not specified
Referral Bonuses
- Current DOS Employees: $1,000 per referral
Eligibility
New employees to the state of Delaware are eligible for these incentives. The program is administered by the Department of State and may be terminated by the State at any time.
Essential Functions
Provides mentoring/orientation for newly hired/less experienced staff, leads individual/group therapeutic processes/discussions, participates on interdisciplinary care team, ensures aseptic integrity of feeding, catheter, and respiratory tubes/devices, monitors/records vital signs, alerts professional staff to significant physical/behavioral changes, observes client/patient/resident activities, conducts periodic rounds, provides written/oral reports, escorts/is responsible for individuals' traveling to social/recreational activities and medical appointments, applies appropriate interventions to prevent or de-escalate inappropriate behaviors.
Job Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant: Possession of a Delaware certification as a Nursing Assistant.
