As a CNA, you will provide residents and patients with high-quality routine daily nursing care in accordance with company, federal, state, and local standards.
Responsibilities
- Care Management and Service Delivery (80%)
- Provide daily resident and patient care as instructed by the Charge Nurse and in accordance with nursing procedures.
- Maintain the Plan of Care for each resident or patient.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), including personal hygiene, elimination, comfort and safety, ambulation, lifting, skin care, nutrition, and hydration.
- Provide care for dying residents and post-mortem care.
- Observe and report pressure areas and skin breakdown.
- Assist with nursing treatments as required.
- Provide daily rehabilitative/restorative procedures.
- Create and maintain a warm, calm, and personal environment for residents.
- Respond to resident calls promptly.
- Operations Management (10%)
- Check rooms for medications and unauthorized food items, reporting findings to the Charge Nurse.
- Maintain resident and patient rooms, work areas, and equipment in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner, following infection control and standard precautions.
- Attend care conferences, departmental meetings, and in-service training as scheduled.
- Share observations and insights to improve departmental quality and efficiency.
- Administration and Reporting (10%)
- Record entries such as ADL coding, intake/output, temperatures, and weight in the electronic medical record (EMR) or as directed.
- Report changes in resident or patient condition to the Charge Nurse promptly.
- Document concerns and complaints from residents, patients, or family members.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in good standing on the Ohio Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Experience
No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
Working Conditions
- Sitting, standing, or walking up to 8 hours per day.
- Lifting, transferring, pushing, or pulling residents, patients, or equipment/supplies up to 50 pounds.
- Work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled.
- Exposure to falls, burns from equipment, odors, cuts, and residents/patients with various disease processes, including infectious waste and bloodborne pathogens (e.g., AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses).
