Certified Nurses Aide-Hospice (PRN To Full Time)

Job Summary

This position will start as a PRN employee and move into a full time CNA position by September.

Essential Job Functions

• Assists in the care of the hospice patient including activities of daily living (ADL's) such as, but not limited to, personal hygiene and grooming, bathing, feeding, repositioning, toileting, transfers and ambulation; household services essential to promote a clean, safe environment.
• Reports and records tasks performed as well as any noticed change in the patient's condition.
• Relates well and works closely with patients, their families and coworkers.
• Obtains and records patient data such as, but not limited to, vital signs, catheter care, pain levels, report findings outside parameters as noted on the assignment sheet or urgent/emergent conditions.
• Completes appropriate records as required.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss and coordinate the patient plan of care.
• Requires creativity and ability to problem solve in the home environment.
• Participates in required staff development activities and performance reviews.
• Attends meetings required, indoors 90% of the time.
• Position requires access to highly confidential information.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High school graduate preferred.
• Completion of state approved nursing assistant training program/current Board of Registry status required.
• Completed and cleared Idaho state background check.
• Current BLS certification.
• A minimum of 12 hours of hospice-specific training annually is required to continue employment in hospice department.

• Able to demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks, use good judgement in the delivery of patient care and communicate effectively with patients, family members, care team members and providers.
