Advantia Health is seeking full-scope Certified Nurse Midwives in Reston, VA. We are looking for someone with solid GYN experience and antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum experience that includes patients with varying medical conditions (e.g., diabetes, hypertension). Responsibilities
- Provide full-scope nurse-midwifery services, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum care, well-woman care, and family planning according to established protocols.
- Maintain productivity to reach the mandated annual level of client encounters.
- Participate in and lead interdisciplinary teams; contribute to the development of annual action plans and healthcare strategies.
- Perform history and physical exams on new and returning clients.
- Manage acute and chronic illnesses in collaboration with physicians according to established protocols.
- Refer patients to follow-up healthcare providers or community agencies as necessary.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as ultrasounds and blood tests.
- Provide emotional support and guidance during labor and pregnancy.
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs; identify high-risk pregnancies.
- Monitor and administer medication, injections, and intravenous infusions during labor.
- Provide postpartum care to mothers and newborns.
- Help parents cope with miscarriage, termination, stillbirth, and neonatal death.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
- Maintain active hospital delivery privileges as requested.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in nursing with a specialization in midwifery.
- Active license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Certification as a Nurse Midwife (CNM) by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
- Active DEA and CDS Number preferred.
