Certified Nurse Assistant - Surgery SCC Recovery (South Meadows)

About the role

This position provides personal hygiene, mobility, safety, and comfort to Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patients as directed by the professional nurse. The incumbent must be knowledgeable of the uses of equipment specific to the area of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist in activities of daily living, as well as emotional support to patients.
• Directly supervise patients as defined by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.
• Administer medication and IV’s as per orders from the physician and professional nurse.
• Formulate and perform nursing procedures as part of the patient care plan.
• Communicate effectively with diverse types of people and respond to requests from different individuals.
• Maintain accuracy and document patient care from pre-admission to discharge.
• Schedule diagnostic tests and treatments without conflict.
• Maintain unit supplies and interdepartmental communication.
• Assist in procedures to facilitate proper documentation of patient care.

Requirements

• Valid CA or NV Driver's license and ability to pass Renown Health's Department of Motor Vehicle Report criteria.
• Current auto insurance.
• AHA BLS certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada CNA certification.

Qualifications

• Education: Working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Experience: Six months CNA experience preferred.

Skills

• Knowledge of equipment specific to the area of employment.
• Proficiency in body mechanics, fire safety, infection control, patient safety, CPR, and safe handling of hazardous materials.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain accuracy and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to respond to requests from different individuals simultaneously.
