Certified Nurse Assistant - Ortho Spine

About the role

This position provides personal hygiene, mobility, safety, and comfort to Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patients as directed by the professional nurse. The incumbent must be knowledgeable of the uses of equipment specific to the area of employment.

Responsibilities

• Directly provide or assist in activities of daily living to patients.
• Administer medication and IVs as ordered by the physician.
• Formulate and implement patient care plans.
• Perform nursing procedures and resolve unusual circumstances.
• Communicate effectively with diverse types of people.
• Maintain accuracy and respond to requests from different people.
• Facilitate proper documentation of patient care from pre-admission to discharge.
• Schedule diagnostic tests and treatments without conflict.
• Maintain unit supplies and interdepartmental communication.

Requirements

• Valid CA or NV Driver's license and ability to pass Renown Health's Department of Motor Vehicle Report criteria.
• Current auto insurance.
• AHA BLS certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada CNA certification.

Qualifications

• Education: Working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Experience: Six months CNA experience preferred.

Skills

• Knowledge of equipment specific to the area of employment.
• Proficiency in body mechanics, fire safety, infection control, patient safety, CPR, and safe handling of hazardous materials.
• Effective communication with diverse types of people.
• Ability to maintain accuracy and respond to requests from different people.
• Documentation of patient care from pre-admission to discharge.
• Scheduling diagnostic tests and treatments without conflict.
• Maintenance of unit supplies and interdepartmental communication.
