Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) MUSC Mullins Nursing Center - PRN

About the role

The Certified Nursing Aide provides routine daily nursing care to assigned patients to ensure patient safety and promote their highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being according to all applicable laws, regulations, and MUSC Health standards.

Responsibilities

• Attends and participates in continuing education programs
• Works in department as well as throughout the facility
• Works in various shifts including weekends and holidays
• Handles difficult patients and emergencies with patience and tact
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information
• Documents and charts patient care accurately
• Responds promptly to call lights

Requirements

• Graduate of a State-approved CNA program
• Currently registered/licensed in applicable State
• Maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment
• One (1) year geriatric nursing experience preferred
• CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation

• Willingness to handle difficult patients
• Knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures
• Ability to implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the nursing department
• Proficient in all applicable competency areas

• Understands and follows company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
