About the role
Watertown Health Care Center is a skilled nursing home facility dedicated to providing exceptional care to its residents. We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who can contribute to our mission of promoting dignity, respect, and well-being for our residents.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized attention to residents to promote their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
- Support the care planning process by providing specific information and observations to the charge nurse or other care planning staff.
- Maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of residents during the delivery of services.
- Interact with residents in a warm and caring manner, respecting their rights and individuality.
- Report incidents of resident abuse or violations of rights to the charge nurse or administrative staff.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, reporting environmental deficiencies to the charge nurse.
- Protect residents' personal belongings and report missing items promptly.
- Monitor residents for changes in condition or behavior and report these changes to appropriate licensed nursing personnel.
- Perform various tasks assigned by the charge nurse, including vital signs, weight checks, applying creams/ointments, collecting specimens, etc.
- Assist with resident orientation and escort them for appointments.
- Participate in activities and functions as directed.
- Complete certified nursing assistant records and document care provided.
- Follow safety and infection control procedures, including proper hand washing and use of disposable gloves.
- Respond to inquiries and assist with administrative tasks as directed.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant Certification course or other education meeting state certification requirements.
- Current Nursing Assistant Certifications in the state of practice or eligibility to obtain.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of resident rights and ability to ensure a respectful and dignified environment.
