About the role

Watertown Health Care Center is a skilled nursing home facility dedicated to providing exceptional care to its residents. We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who can contribute to our mission of promoting dignity, respect, and well-being for our residents.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized attention to residents to promote their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
  • Support the care planning process by providing specific information and observations to the charge nurse or other care planning staff.
  • Maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of residents during the delivery of services.
  • Interact with residents in a warm and caring manner, respecting their rights and individuality.
  • Report incidents of resident abuse or violations of rights to the charge nurse or administrative staff.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, reporting environmental deficiencies to the charge nurse.
  • Protect residents' personal belongings and report missing items promptly.
  • Monitor residents for changes in condition or behavior and report these changes to appropriate licensed nursing personnel.
  • Perform various tasks assigned by the charge nurse, including vital signs, weight checks, applying creams/ointments, collecting specimens, etc.
  • Assist with resident orientation and escort them for appointments.
  • Participate in activities and functions as directed.
  • Complete certified nursing assistant records and document care provided.
  • Follow safety and infection control procedures, including proper hand washing and use of disposable gloves.
  • Respond to inquiries and assist with administrative tasks as directed.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant Certification course or other education meeting state certification requirements.
  • Current Nursing Assistant Certifications in the state of practice or eligibility to obtain.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of resident rights and ability to ensure a respectful and dignified environment.
