About the role
This position provides personal hygiene, mobility, safety, and comfort to Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patients as directed by the professional nurse. The incumbent must be knowledgeable of the uses of equipment specific to the area of employment.
Responsibilities
- Direct supervision means direction given by the manager or nurse on duty who is periodically available as the site where care is provided to a patient or available for immediate assistance.
- Provides personal hygiene, mobility, safety, and comfort to Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patients as direct by the professional nurse.
- Knowledgeable of the uses of equipment specific to the area of employment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in body mechanics, fire safety, infection control, patient safety, CPR, and safe handling of hazardous materials.
- Communicate effectively with diverse types of people; function effectively under stress; and the ability to identify and maintain priorities while responding simultaneously to requests from different people.
- Assists in procedures to facilitate the proper documentation of the patient care from pre-admission to discharge.
- Schedules diagnostic tests and treatment without conflict.
- Maintain unit supplies and interdepartmental communication.
Requirements
- Required and/or Preferred Name Description
- Education: Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Experience: Six months CNA experience preferred.
- Licenses: For the Following Cost Center(s) 205351, 205353 Valid CA or NV Driver's license and ability to pass Renown Health's Department of Motor Vehicle Report criteria. Current auto insurance.
- Certifications: AHA BLS certification. Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada CNA certification.
- Computer / Typing: Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
