Certified Nurse Aide - Taylor Health Center - PT - Days

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintains resident ADL needs including personal hygiene, oral/denture care, bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Comprehends and implements resident plan of care for physical and emotional well-being.
• Knows and applies resident rights, abuse and neglect policies, and reporting protocols.
• Fulfills safety measures and equipment competency, including supply needs and replenishment.
• Follows infection control policies, including hand washing, linen management, and maintaining a clean, orderly environment.
• Maintains toileting routines, documents incontinence and continence, and reports bowel regimes to the nurse.
• Encourages independence and mobility, performs range of motion exercises, and ensures safe lifting techniques during transfers and transport.
• Measures, records, and documents vital signs, height/weight, intake/output, and reports out-of-limit findings.
• Participates in resident care conferences and care planning processes.
• Fulfills attendance, break, meal, and staff meeting requirements as outlined in personnel policies.
• Reports potential corporate compliance violations to the Corporate Compliance Officer.
• Participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Provides age-appropriate care to adult and geriatric patients/residents.
• Completes mandatory educational programs and maintains 12 CEUs per year.

Qualifications

Required: Certified as a Nurse Aide with the New York State Department of Health, current Heartsaver certification.

Prior Nursing Assistant experience is preferred.

Essential qualities include professionalism, teamwork, kindness, and concern for residents and colleagues.

Employment Schedule

Required to work weekends, holidays, and various shifts as needed.

Physical/Mental Demands

Involves standing and walking most of the day. Requires lifting, moving, positioning, and transferring/rescuing equipment and residents. Must adjust to various staff members, assignments, and clinical areas.

Working Conditions & Hazards

Exposed to disagreeable odors, sights, body wastes, and contagious diseases. May be exposed to irrational residents and injuries due to their condition.
