About the role
Buckner Retirement Services Community: Calder Woods Location: Beaumont, TX - Onsite Address: 7080 Calder Ave, Beaumont, TX 77706 Shift: Days 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM Job Schedule: Full-Time
Responsibilities
- Aid in the implementation of the prescribed health care plan.
- Maintain frequent resident rounds to ensure physical comfort, safety, and cleanliness.
- Provide essential care services such as bathing, feeding, oral care, and dressing.
- Clean and sanitize equipment and areas, including urinals, commodes, bedpans, showers, wheelchairs, and more.
- Accurately document Activities for Daily Living (ADL's), intakes, and outputs on resident charts.
- Wake residents, assist with morning grooming, and move them to the dining room as needed.
- Change soiled and clean linens, distribute clean towels, and ensure resident safety by reporting potential hazards.
- Monitor vital signs, observe resident reactions, and safely lift and reposition residents as necessary.
- Pick up and distribute meal trays, assist in activities, and professionally intervene in resident disputes.
- Support the team by assisting in the nursing station, answering phones, and feeding residents as needed.
- Follow Buckner's 5STARS of customer service and respond promptly to requests for assistance or information.
Requirements
- Current Texas Nurse Aide Certification
- CPR/First Aid certified
- Current Food Handler Certificate
- Professional knowledge of basic health care practices and procedures, including infection control
- Working knowledge of resident restraints as prescribed by physicians
- Physical abilities to perform tasks including bending, stooping, twisting, turning, reaching, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, climbing, kneeling, walking, and standing over 75% of the shift
- Attention to detail to prevent errors that could be life-threatening
- Patience, tact, initiative, judgment, and confidentiality
Qualifications
- One year prior experience as a nursing assistant or equivalent training
- Experience in customer service
