As a CNA, you will provide residents and patients with high-quality routine daily nursing care in accordance with company, federal, state, and local standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily resident and patient care in accordance with nursing procedures and as instructed by the Charge Nurse.
  • Ensures the Plan of Care is maintained for each resident or patient.
  • Assists with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), including personal hygiene, elimination, comfort and safety, ambulation, lifting, skin care, nutrition, and hydration.
  • Provides care for dying residents and post-mortem care as needed.
  • Observes and reports pressure areas, skin breakdown, and changes in resident or patient condition to the Charge Nurse.
  • Assists with nursing treatments and daily rehabilitative/restorative procedures.
  • Creates and maintains a warm, calm environment for residents and patients, answering calls promptly.
  • Checks rooms for medications and unauthorized food items, reporting findings to the Charge Nurse.
  • Maintains resident and patient rooms, work areas, and equipment in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner, following infection control and standard precautions.
  • Attends care conferences, departmental meetings, and in-service training as directed.
  • Shares observations and insights to improve departmental quality and efficiency.
  • Measures and records entries such as ADL coding, intake/output, temperatures, and weight in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Reports concerns and complaints from residents, patients, or family members to the Charge Nurse.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in good standing on the Ohio Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Working Conditions

  • Sitting, standing, and walking for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Lifting, transferring, pushing, or pulling residents, patients, or equipment/supplies up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Exposure to falls, burns from equipment, odors, cuts, and various disease processes during the workday.
  • May be exposed to infectious waste, disease, and conditions, including AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
  • Risk Category I for exposure to bloodborne diseases.
