About the Role
The Certified Nurse Aide provides comprehensive, continuous, coordinated, and individualized nursing care to all MVMC patients. This role requires collaboration with ancillary medical departments and medical staff to deliver patient-centered care, aligned with MVMC’s mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Answer patient call lights promptly and perform vital signs as directed.
- Participate in change-of-shift patient reports to promote a team approach to care.
- Manage diet orders, meal service, and tray delivery, including feeding assistance when needed.
- Assist patients with daily bathing, linen changes, safe ambulation, range-of-motion exercises, and activities of daily living under RN direction.
- Implement infection control measures, such as safe linen handling, peri care, and post-discharge room cleaning.
- Gather and document patient information, including input/output, vital signs, shift assessments, and NAC duties.
- Maintain cleanliness of patient care areas, including bathrooms, tub rooms, lounges, and utility rooms.
- Stock patient care areas, including refrigerators and supply carts.
- Provide 1:1 care for patients with specific needs when required.
- Assist in other departments (e.g., central supply, environmental services) as needed.
- Act as a patient/family advocate and promote a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with staff, patients, and external partners.
- Complete full registrations per Revenue Cycle Management policies and maintain logs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant License.
- BLS Certification (required within 6 months of hire).
- Annual Safety Training and N-95 Mask Fitting.
- Minimum one year of experience in the medical field (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills and basic PC proficiency.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Extensive standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull at least 50 pounds.
- Good close vision and color distinction.
- Potential exposure to radiation and electrical hazards.
- Clean hospital environment with quiet to moderate noise levels.
- Frequent keyboarding and repetitive movements.
OSHA Category I: This role involves occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
