Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living to promote independence and dignity.
- Ensure resident safety by bathing, showering, shampooing, shaving, combing hair, dressing appropriately, and providing nail care as needed.
- Follow resident assignment schedule as directed by the charge nurse.
- Lift, move, and transfer residents as required.
- Answer call lights promptly.
- Assist or feed residents as necessary.
- Keep residents clean and dry, provide toileting or incontinent care, and maintain a supportive, protective, and safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Current Nurse Aide certification and good standing with the State of Louisiana Nurse Aide Registry.
- Ability to understand, remember, and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
- Ability to speak clearly and hear well enough to communicate with residents.
