About the role

Achievers Early College Prep Charter School (AECP) is New Jersey’s first public charter school for middle school students. It offers a unique STEAM pathway program, including Health Sciences, Digital Media, Audio Engineering, and Cisco Computer Networking, allowing students to earn up to 60 college credits, NOCTI credentials, and workplace training.

The school aims to prepare students for success in high school and beyond by enhancing their content mastery, skills, and experiences relevant to today's market and future needs.

Responsibilities

• Show strong content knowledge in Physical Education (PE) and Health Education
• Create lesson plans for PE and Health for 6th, 7th, or 8th grade students
• Utilize data to refine curriculum and guide instructional practices
• Be open to weekly coaching and professional development
• Implement strategies to maintain positive student behavior
• Engage students through various teaching methods and assess understanding
• Be proficient in using Google Classroom and virtual meeting platforms
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Teaching experience in an upper elementary, middle, or high school
• Interpersonal and communication skills suitable for diverse audiences
• Valid NJ Teaching Certification
