Certified Medication Technician (Full-Time)
Position Summary
Wesley Manor Retirement Community is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused Certified Medication Technician to join our team. The Certified Medication Technician supports the health, safety, comfort, and well-being of residents by administering medications, providing direct care, assisting with activities of daily living, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, facility policies, and scope of certification.
- Observe residents for changes in condition, behavior, comfort, or overall well-being and promptly report concerns to licensed nursing staff.
- Monitor and document residents’ vital signs, medication administration, treatments, health status, and other required information accurately and timely.
- Absorb residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, meals, and other personal care needs as assigned.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to support individualized resident care plans.
- Provide emotional support, companionship, and reassurance to residents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, documentation, and medication-related reports.
- Follow infection control, safety, resident rights, confidentiality, and health regulations at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized resident care environment.
- Participate in required training, in-services, and professional development programs to maintain certification and enhance skills.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, families, coworkers, supervisors, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Respond appropriately to resident needs, urgent situations, and changes in condition.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Current certification as a Certified Medication Technician in Kentucky required.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in senior living, assisted living, long-term care, memory care, or another healthcare setting preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures, medical terminology, resident care practices, and documentation standards.
- Ability to follow medication protocols, safety procedures, and facility policies accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to resident safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Able to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and respect for resident rights.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
- Reliable attendance and ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
