About the role
A Medication Assistant (MA) delivers resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision in a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing quality senior housing and care in a Christian environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide age-appropriate physical and psychological care based on care plans.
- Assist with activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and recording vital signs.
- Administer prescribed medications delegated by a licensed nurse, document outcomes, and communicate changes.
- Gather vital signs and collect non-invasive specimens.
- Support residents' psycho-social needs.
- Assist with food preparation, dining, housekeeping, and laundry.
- Encourage participation in wellness and recreational activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum age 18; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
- Must hold valid CNA and CMA certifications as required by state.
- Completion of state-approved medication aide courses and ongoing continuing education.
- Ability to perform basic health and safety procedures and communicate effectively.
Schedule
The role requires evening shifts, every other weekend, and holiday work.
