About the Role
The Medication Assistant (MA) provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and vital signs
- Provide psycho-social support
- Help with transfers and range of motion exercises
- Support meal assistance, including medication administration within scope
- Document care and communicate resident changes
- Assist with housekeeping, laundry, and recreational activities
- Deliver age-appropriate resident care
- Administer medications and document outcomes
- Support daily activities and promote a positive environment
- Participate in departmental initiatives
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Prior long-term care experience
- Certification (CNA, CMA, or TMA) as required by state
- Complete annual competency testing and continuing education
- Strong communication and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively
