Certified Medication Aide

About the role

We are seeking a Medical Technologist (CMA) who possesses an HCA certification and can obtain a CPR/BLS card. The position is available full-time only and offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized attention and encourage residents to maintain or attain their highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
• Administer, instruct, and monitor resident medications and report to the wellness director.
• Take vital signs, residents' weights, apply creams/ointments, collect specimens, lift, move, and transport residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices to prevent accidents.
• Attend to the resident's needs, including grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communication, in keeping with the individuals' care requirements.
• Ensure individualized care plans are followed and provide care planning staff with specific information, changes, and observations of the residents' needs and preferences.
• Document care in keeping with department policies.

Requirements

• Currently possess an HCA certification in the state of employment.
• Can obtain a CPR/BLS card.
• Read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Follow prescribed safety and infection control procedures.
• Communicate and interact tactfully with others.

Qualifications

• Compassion and interest in working with the senior population.

Skills

• Knowledge of medication administration and distribution.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff.
• Basic knowledge of senior care practices and procedures.

Pay

Starting wage at $21 (based on experience).
