About the role

The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) / Med Tech enhances the overall resident experience by providing exceptional daily nursing care and service in accordance with each resident's personalized care plan. The CMA assists with activities of daily living—such as dressing, eating, grooming, communicating, toileting, personal hygiene, and mobility—and prepares and administers medications according to health care provider instructions and within the scope of Grand Living’s license. This role operates under The Sterling Touch® philosophy: friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional, ensuring high resident satisfaction. The CMA works under the general guidance of the Director of Health and Wellness, following community standards, processes, procedures, and philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional daily nursing care and service in alignment with each resident’s personalized care plan.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including dressing, eating, grooming, communicating, toileting, personal hygiene, and mobility.
• Prepare and administer medications according to health care provider instructions and within the scope of Grand Living’s license.
• Deliver care in The Sterling Touch® manner: friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional.
• Observe and react during emergencies, communicating effectively with residents, guests, and team members.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, climbing stairs, crouching, bending, stooping, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Certified Medication Aide License (required).
• 1-2 years of experience working with seniors (preferred but not required).
• Ability to read, write, and understand English to assist with ADLs, observe and assist with medications, and communicate during emergencies.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull, and work continuously without sitting for extended periods.
