About the role

This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Responsibilities

  • Code outpatient and observation encounters.
  • Assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and physician E/M codes.
  • Code services for:
    • Outpatient (OP)
    • Observation (OBS)
    • Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
    • Emergency Department (ED)
    • Injections and Infusions
    • Ancillary services
  • Abstract diagnosis and procedural information from medical records.
  • Review claims to ensure coding accuracy, compliance, and required authorizations.
  • Maintain productivity and accuracy standards while adhering to coding guidelines.
  • Participate in monthly team meetings and collaborate with leadership.

Requirements

  • Recent outpatient facility coding experience required.
  • Experience coding OP, Observation, ASC, ED, injections/infusions, ancillary services, and physician E/M services.
  • Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and outpatient coding guidelines.
  • Experience reviewing claims for coding compliance and authorization requirements.
  • Experience with Nutex's proprietary coding system is a plus.
  • AHIMA or AAPC certification required (CCS, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA accepted).
  • Strong computer skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Pay

$30.00 - $32.00 / Per hour (based on experience)

Schedule

Monday-Friday with flexible hours between 5:00 AM and 7:00 PM.

Additional Details

  • Equipment: Client-provided equipment.
  • Candidates must report onsite on day one to complete onboarding and pick up equipment.
  • Quarterly onsite team lunches may be required.
  • Training: First week consists of system training followed by a one-month ramp-up period before full productivity expectations apply.
  • Systems: Nutex proprietary coding platform.
  • Productivity Expectations: 80-100 visits per day with 95% coding accuracy.
  • Start Date: ASAP.
