Certified Medical Assistant - Urbandale Urgent Care

Responsibilities

  • Aid physicians and advanced practice providers during patient exams, treatments, and procedures.
  • Room patients, obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, and other pertinent clinical information in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Perform point-of-care testing, specimen collection, and other clinical tasks within scope of practice.
  • Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per scope of licensure.
  • Prepare patients for exams and procedures and provide support throughout their visit.
  • Educate patients on medications, treatments, follow-up care, and other health-related needs.
  • Cook up referrals, follow-up care, and communication with patients as needed.
  • Absorb and maintain patient flow and an efficient clinic experience in a fast-paced Urgent Care setting.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.
  • Collaborate with providers and the care team to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants (Certificate, diploma, or Associate’s Degree) required.
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through one of the following required: National Healthcare Association, American Association of Medical Assistants, National Center for Competency Testing, National Certified Medical Assistant, National Association of Health Professionals, American Registry of Medical Assistants, American Allied Health, American Medical Technologists.
  • Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with EPIC a plus!
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Urgent Care environment.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants (Certificate, diploma, or Associate’s Degree) required.

$18.25 - $22.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Monday/Thursday/Friday 7:45AM-8PM + rotating weekend and holidays.
