About the role
ConvenientCare may require weekends and/or holidays.
Responsibilities
- Rooms patients
- Collections vital signs
- Reviews patient medication list and medical/social history
- Collections specimens and performs basic laboratory tests
- Administers injections and medications as directed by provider
- Orders supplies
- Updates/maintains medical records
- Obtains referrals/authorizations
- Schedules appointments
- Other clinical tasks as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Medical Assistant certification (e.g., AAMA CMA, AMT RMA, NHA CCMA, NCCT NCMA, or NAHP NRCMA)
- Current CPR certification
- Proficiency in computer applications relevant to clinical practice
- Minimum of 2–3 years of recent experience in a primary care physician office setting
- Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in varying office settings with minimal notice
Qualifications
- Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant diploma or degree program (preferred)
- Pediatrics experience strongly preferred
