Medical Associates offers a fully funded Certified Medical Assistant scholarship that prepares individuals to join the team as a CMA upon completion of studies. You are ready for a change and excited for a career in healthcare; you have experience in customer service or healthcare and enjoy helping people. CMAs are one of the fastest‑growing healthcare professionals who perform administrative and clinical functions in a medical office setting and are valuable to Medical Associates, working alongside clinical staff to support over 200 advanced practice providers and physicians. The CMA role provides quality patient care for clinic patients, assisting physicians, providers, and co‑workers in coordinating and carrying out outpatient care plans and services.
Responsibilities
- Perform administrative and clinical functions in a medical office setting.
- Assist physicians, providers, and co‑workers in coordinating and carrying out outpatient care plans and services.
- Provide quality patient care for clinic patients.
- Work alongside clinical staff to support over 200 advanced practice providers and physicians.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED by Spring 2027.
- Acceptance into the Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) Medical Assistant program (program runs August 2027 through July 2028).
- Customer service or healthcare experience preferred.
Qualifications
Successful completion of the NICC Medical Assistant program and the AAMA certification exam.
