About the role
Shriners Children's Ohio has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Assistant to join our Outpatient Clinic team. In this role, you'll support our medical and nursing staff in providing compassionate, family-centered care to infants, toddlers, preschoolers, adolescents, and young adults. You'll play a key part in the patient intake process — collecting vital information such as medical history, height and weight, vital signs, allergies, medications, and previous procedures — helping our team deliver the best possible care to every child.
Hours
This Monday - Friday position will work 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists in rooming patients, taking vital signs, measurements, preparation of exam rooms, stocking supplies, assisting the physician, interacting with other departments and documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Assists providers, nursing and other health care professionals with procedures and the intake and depart processes.
- Accurately documents information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Responsible for prepping clinic to be prepared for that day's clinic to include monitoring supplies and equipment and ordering supplies.
- Utilizes good clinical judgement to identify problems and interventions with patients and families and referral to RN as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years' pediatric care experience
- Two years' experience as a Medical Assistant
Compensation
Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
